BP readies static kill; shares up 33% in July

BP PLC is moving ahead with plans to plug up the blown-out Macondo well drilled by the stricken Deepwater Horizon rig, with a so-called static kill operation expected to start by Monday or Tuesday.

Enterprise - Independence Trail Export Pipeline - Gulf of Mexico

The 24” Independence Trail Export Pipeline is a 134-mile pipeline initiating with a 20” SCR at the new Independence Hub floating facility located in Mississippi Canyon 920 in approximately 7,900 feet of waterand terminating at a new fixed platform in West Delta 68 in approximately 115 fsw. The project also includes installation of 20” FlexJoint and VIV suppression strakes, two (2) 12”/16” double tee assemblies (7,000 fsw and 5,000 fsw), thirty-six (36) foreign crossings, and 12.5 miles of pipe requiring 3' of burial.

CTI has been integrated into the Independence Trail Project Team to provide support and expertise in pipeline construction. The following tasks are currently underway:

  • Management of the procurement of key project materials
  • Management of pre-mobilization project engineering and planning activities
  • Offshore construction management and support
  • Onshore and offshore inspection services
